Felix Jones says Redskins fans are "really dirty"

By Dan Steinberg

(By John McDonnell - TWP)

There isn't really much meat to this here post, so I'm going to have to pad the word count by starting elsewhere and kind of gradually winding my way to the main point. Have you read this story on the Canadian geological statistician who cracked an instant lottery code that would allow him to win $600 a day just by buying and scratching winning lotto tickets? Truly remarkable stuff.

Did you see that JMU is trying to set the world record for the largest-ever game of knockout after Wednesday's basketball game against William & Mary?

Have you ever played the Doc Walker drinking game? If Doc calls someone a cyborg or a natural born baller, you're gonna be in trouble.

Speaking of Doc Walker, Doc Walker interviewed Felix Jones on ESPN 980 during the Super Bowl media madness, and asked the Cowboys running back about visiting FedEx Field.

"Every stadium we go to, it's a lot of people who really hate the cowboys, or really dislike them," Jones said. "But I love to go into FedEx and win. It's a great feeling to go somewhere and beat a team in their own stadium and leave and smile at the fans who was cussing you out or throwing stuff at you."

I guess this is where I should point out that Felix Jones has played two games at FedEx Field, with a lifetime record of 1-1. Sure, I suppose that's enough to know that he loves to go into FedEx and win. Small sample size, though.

Then Walker asked which NFC East team has the nastiest fans. To me, this is the sort of question an NFL vet could answer in his sleep, or while sleeping in his dreams, or while listening to Matt Millen interview Joe Theismann while sleeping in his dream sleep dreams. But Jones wasn't content to be obvious.

"Oh man, it's between the Redskins and the Eagles," he said. "The fans are really dirty. They dislike the Cowboys, they dislike anybody who's a Cowboys fan. But it motivates us, and we have fun with it."

Teacher says that every time an athlete says Philly doesn't have the dirtiest fans, Santa gets nailed in the face with a snowball.

Oh, hey, look, ZuZu's petals!

More proof that today's player's just don't get one of the NFL's most storied rivalries....

Dallas, Texas: A true contradiction in terms IMHO...

This reminds me, I haven't defecated on an effigy of Felix Jones and then burned it yet today.

This is funny because when the cowboys come to FedEx it's mostly ugly disgusting cowboy fans that make up the majority of the stadium. Screw Felix. He sucks anyways so it's probably his own fans cussing at him.

Posted by: fakedude1 | February 1, 2011 10:47 PM | Report abuse

Philly has the dirtiest fans.

Must be their upbringing.

Sorry relatives.

When you name your kid Felix, you're just setting him up for a difficult life.

Posted by: randysbailin | February 2, 2011 8:59 AM | Report abuse

Felix better be careful; Dan Snyder might sue him.

the greatest playground hoops game ever! Ok , maybe not ever, but basically everybody lines up at the FT line. You have 2 basketballs. The first in line shoots,if he makes it he goes to the back of the line. If he misses, he's got to make a shot from anywhere before the player behind him scores (first from the FT line, then from anywhere like the first guy). If the second shooter scores before the player who shot ahead of him the first shooter is "knocked out" and the second shooter goes to the back of the line. Keep shooting til one man is left standing.

wow...put me in the category of "fans who was cussing you out"....lmao...that Arkansas education is really paying off for Felix...he better get some sort of education, because his career will be short..he's always hurt and the only reason he's on the field is his speed. he couldn't block half of the posters on this blog.

oh yeah...F Dallas and all of you locals who root for their sorry asses.

You lost when you were here in September moron. Good thing you can play football because you sure can't count.

Of course KKKowboy fans drag Black people behind trucks so I'm proud of the people of DC. Guess Felix just wants to please Master Jones. Way to Step and Fetch in the true Emmitt Smith tradition.

Why does anyone care what Felix Jones thinks? I'm a Redskins fan transplanted to Dallas, and he is as irrelevant as the rest of the Dallas running backs. Think Jerry is still glad he grabbed his Arkansas guy over Rashad Mendenhall in that draft?

New title for this article:

Which is dumber, knockout or Felix Jones?

Posted by: soloman5000 | February 2, 2011 11:19 AM | Report abuse

It's an irony of geography that a team that finished 6-10 during the regular season and underperformed chronically has players that are out and about at the Super Bowl being interviewed as if they have some exalted status.

These guys are losers who finished with the same 6-10 record as the Redskins.

In a division where the winner, Philly, was knocked out at home in the wildcard round, Dallas was so far out of first place they couldn't see it with a spyglass.

F Felix Jones and F the Dallass Cowgirls.

Posted by: hogwash1 | February 2, 2011 2:56 PM | Report abuse

Skins fans have sizeable redneck element that is not to be underestimated, but the edge still goes to Philly for dirtiest fans.

Wow Dan, you actually made an article out of this. Tomorrow, we want to read an article about what Miles Austin thinks.

It is no coincidence that the weather in the land down under is characteristic of a winter HELL! Just in time for the big game the host team will be watching along with the rest of us!!

Just one question: Who is Felix Jones?

Posted by: jgarrisn | February 2, 2011 6:56 PM | Report abuse

Some advice to Felix, shut up and practice holding onto the ball.
