The Caps and Super Bowl prop bets

By Dan Steinberg

I was in Vegas last week for a story about Super Bowl betting, which I'll write at some point, but I happened to get my hands on the 325 or so Super Bowl prop bets offered by the Las Vegas Hilton last year. There were more than a few wagers involving D.C. athletes, including Greivis Vasquez and Alex Ovechkin. You might remember that the Caps and Penguins were playing a nationally televised hockey game on Super Bowl Sunday, making for a perfect dose of cross-sport bizarro bets that were fun to look at, if nothing else.

Well, the Caps and Penguins are playing again this Super Bowl Sunday, making for another healthy dose of Caps-related Super Bowl bets. I'm taking these from Doc Sports, but I'm positive that at least a few of them would be available on the ground in Vegas.

Talk about your sucker bets... Considering that Canadian Diving Team Captain, Lowblow Secodary Assist Cindy Crosby isn't even likely to play on Sunday (Dave Steckel for Lady Byng!) Ben has that matchup all to himself.

Oh, and the Pirates winning a baseball game is just too funny to think about.

I am blissfully unaware of what those +/- numbers mean.

I also never lose money.
