U.S. 50 jammed at Beltway in Maryland

Here's a look at the headaches being faced by commuters this morning:
8:50 A.M. UPDATE:
-- There's a disabled vehicle in the road on I-495/Outer Loop past Riggs Road.
-- The congestion on I-395 North essentially stems from the 14th Street Bridge back to the Springfield Interchange. Looking at the traffic cameras, it's a long, slow crawl to get to the bridge, so expect to be waiting.
8:35 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Traffic is also apparently slow on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway heading towards U.S. 50. This might stem from the earlier accident that closed 295 Southbound; the lanes reopened just over an hour ago, and any backups might take a while to clear out.
-- The I-66 East lane remains closed at Chain Bridge Road, and the backups remain in that area.
8:10 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Traffic on U.S. 50 eastbound is backed up to the Beltway in Maryland, the Post's Michael Bolden reports.
-- I-495 North is incredibly slow moving towards I-66.
-- I-395 North is crawling at the 14th Street Bridge.
-- The lanes on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange have reopened.
-- The right lane and right shoulder of I-66 East are still closed at Chain Bridge Road.
7:45 A.M. UPDATE:
-- An accident on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road is blocking the right lane and right shoulder. There are already backups at this point on I-66 East, and they are just going to get worse.
-- The accident on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is now just blocking the right lane and right shoulder.
-- There's debris in the road on I-495/Inner Loop just past the American Legion Bridge, which could cause delays.
-- The disabled vehicle blocking part of I-270 North at Old Hundred Road/MD 109 in Clarksburg has been cleared.
7:20 A.M. UPDATE:
-- All southbound 295 lanes have reopened at Eastern Avenue have reopened, the District Department of Transportation just Tweeted.
-- An accident on Seminary Road/VA 420 eastbound near the ramp to I-395 might cause delays. The right shoulder of the ramp from Seminary Road to I-395 North is blocked.
-- The accident on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is still blocking the center lane, right lane and right shoulder.
-- I-395 North is very slow at the 14th Street Bridge and at numerous other spots between the interchange and the bridge.
7 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Southbound 295 is closed at Eastern Avenue due to a four-car accident, the District Department of Transportation just Tweeted. Traffic is being diverted onto the Eastern Avenue ramp.
-- An accident on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is blocking the center lane, right lane and right shoulder.
6:40 A.M. UPDATE:
-- An accident on MD 201 South could slow traffic just past MD 295.
-- Delays remain on I-395 North, I-66 East and I-95 North.
6:20 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-395 North is very sluggish from the Springfield Interchange to Duke Street.
-- I-66 East is also getting crowded at Chain Bridge Road.
-- There are bad backups on I-95 North in Occoquan.
-- The I-270 North lanes are still blocked at Old Hundred Road.
6:05 A.M. UPDATE:
A disabled vehicle on I-495 South at I-66 is blocking the south right shoulder and could cause congestion as the morning rush hour begins.
