Video: 495 bridge demolished in Tysons

Crews recently demolished the old Beltway bridge over Route 123 in Tysons Corner, requiring the complete closure of Route 123. The outer loop bridge was torn down the weekend of June 11 as part of the I-495 HOT Lanes project. According to Mike Salmon, a spokesman for Virginia Megaprojects, crews finished early and reopened Route 123 10 hours ahead of schedule.

Crews will begin working on a new bridge and a HOT lanes connection into Tysons Corner at the Westpark Drive bridge.
