Metro budget hearing Wednesday
Metro will hold a public hearing Wednesday on the transit agency's capital budget and improvement program for the fiscal year that starts July 1.
The capital budget, which is expected to total $709.3 million, includes
projects such as replacing Metro's older 1000 Series rail cars, as well as old buses and bus garages. It also includes rehabilitating the Red Line between Dupont Circle and Silver Spring, and the Blue, Yellow and Orange lines between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Stadium-Armory Metrorail stations, according to Metro.
The complete list of projects is available in the public hearing docket posted online at www.wmata.com. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Metro Headquarters, 600 Fifth St. NW.
