I-495 North blocked at Dulles Toll Rd

Here's a look at some headaches facing commuters this morning. [This post will be updated throughout the morning rush hour.]:

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-495 North at the Dulles Toll Road is blocking the left lane, left shoulder and exit ramp.

-- I-95 North is very jammed up before the Springfield Interchange.

-- I-395 North is still slow at the 14th Street Bridge.

-- The merge lane on I-495/Outer Loop before the American Legion Bridge has reopened.

-- The Inner Loop lanes before U.S. 1 have also reopened.

8:15 A.M. UPDATE:

The 3600 block of King Street is closed in both directions due to a water main break. All traffic is being diverted onto a service road in front of the Bradlee Shopping Center, but avoiding the area is highly recommended. This is happening right near the big intersection where King Street, Braddock Road and Quaker Lane connect.

8:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The disabled vehicle on I-495/Outer Loop before Colesville Road has been moved.

-- The accident on I-495/Outer Loop before the Maryland side of the American Legion Bridge has also been moved. It's now just blocking one of the merge lanes.

-- There was an accident on I-95/Inner Loop before U.S. 1 in Prince George's County, and it is blocking one Inner Loop lane and one of the shoulders.

-- I-395 North is very congested at the 14th Street Bridge, Glebe Road and Duke Street.

-- I-495 North remains jammed leading to I-66.

-- I-66 East is still slow at Nutley Street.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-495/Outer Loop at the American Legion Bridge (on the Maryland side) is blocking one Outer Loop lane and one of the shoulders.

-- And there's a disabled vehicle on I-495/Outer Loop before Colesville Road, blocking one Outer Loop lane.

-- I-495 North is absolutely jammed leading to I-66.

-- I-395 North is slow leading to Duke Street.

7:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-495/Outer Loop to the west of I-95 in Prince George's County could cause delays.

-- I-66 East is very backed up leading to Nutley Street.

-- I-495 North is heavily congested heading to Gallows Road.

7 A.M. UPDATE:

The eastbound New York Avenue lanes have finally reopened, according to the District's Emergency Management Agency and its Department of Transportation.

6:40 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Minnesota Avenue is closed in both directions from Grant Street to Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue in Northeast due to a house fire, according to the District Department of Transportation.

-- There's a disabled vehicle on the shoulder on I-495 South just south of the American Legion Bridge, which could cause delays.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

The water main break on New York Avenue has been repaired, according to the District's Emergency Management Agency. The eastbound lanes remain closed as crews are still working, but the lanes should reopen within the next hour.

-- New York Avenue remains closed at Montana Avenue in Northeast. Yes, the same one that made yesterday's commute so much fun. Alternate routes like Rhode Island Avenue and Bladensburg Road are recommended.
