Several lanes of I-495 to close tonight
The Virginia Department of Transportation will close multiple lanes in both directions of I-495 Sunday night as part of the I-495 HOT lanes project. Lane closures begin at 9:30 p.m. with temporary interstate closures occurring after midnight, according to a VDOT bulletin.
The following I-495 HOT Lanes project lane closures are scheduled for tonight.
-- I-495 north and south at Exit 52, Little River Turnpike (Route 236): Three lanes will close with total closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight Sunday night for bridge demolition.
-- I-495 north collector distributor road at Exit 54, Braddock Road (Route 620): 30-minute total closures of the collector distributor road after midnight Sunday night for bridge demolition.
-- Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) east to I-495: Ramp closed Sunday through Wednesday nights for bridge construction.
--Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and south at I-495: Two left lanes closed Sunday night for barrier movement.
Long-term left lane closures on Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) at I-495 begin tonight.
