MARC crowding and delays

Mark Berman

9:25 A.M. UPDATE: Brunswick Line Train 894 is now operating 95 minutes late.

8:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Brunswick Line train 894 has now stopped at the Frederick station due to mechanical problems and there is no timetable yet for when it'll get moving again. Metro will honor MARC tickets, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Brunswick Line train 894 is running 30 to 35 minutes late.

7:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Brunswick Line train 894 is leaving the Frederick station between 20 and 25 minutes late.

ORIGINAL POST:

There are some delays and issues already facing MARC riders this morning:

-- Brunswick Line trains 874 (departing Martinsburg at 5:25 a.m.) and 892 (departing Frederick at 6:05 a.m.) will be running one car short. Camden Line train 847 (departing Baltimore Camden Station at 6:40 a.m.) will also run one car short. That means these trains could all be more crowded than usual.

-- For Camden Line riders, the ticket machine at the Savage station is out of service. One way and round trip fares may be paid in cash on the train (no bills larger than a $20 will be accepted). If you want to buy a ticket using a credit card, board at Dorsey, Laurel or the Odenton station on the Penn Line, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
