The impact of this week's heat wave on MARC commuter rail service is prompting the Maryland Transit Administration to extend the hours of its customer call center.
The MTA said Thursday that the MARC customer service hot line will now take calls from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until further notice. The hot line previously stopped taking calls at 7 p.m.
MTA officials say they have staffers who are specially trained to handle questions about MARC service. Riders can reach the hot line at 1-800-325-RAIL (1-800-325-7245).
