Beltway lanes open in Va.

Mark Berman

Here's a roundup of the headaches facing commuters this morning:

The Beltway accident is now on the shoulder and traffic is heavy but moving.

-- A tractor trailer accident on I-95 North/the Beltway at Van Dorn Street is blocking the left center lane, right center lane and right lane. With traffic getting by in one lane on the left, there are considerable backups.

-- Further north on the Beltway, there is an accident blocking the left lane of I-495 North at the Leesburg Pike.

-- The accident near G.W. Parkway has been cleared and isn't blocking any lanes.

8:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on the Inner Loop in Virginia near the G.W. Parkway is blocking the right lane.

-- I-66 East is very, very backed up at the Beltway.

-- An accident on the Inner Loop at University Boulevard might cause delays.

-- I-395 North is pretty backed up at the 14th Street Bridge.

7:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-395 North is very congested from King Street and, on and off, back to the Springfield Interchange.

-- I-495 North is also sluggish as you get closer to I-66.

7:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- One southbound lane on Massachusetts Avenue in Bethesda remains blocked by a fallen tree.

-- Now all I-270 Southbound lanes are open, but one of the shoulders is blocked.

-- I-66 East is packed at the Beltway.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Now one of the southbound Massachusetts Avenue lanes has reopened, while one remains closed.

-- I-395 North is congested at Duke Street.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- One of the southbound I-270 lanes is blocked by the accident before Clarksburg Road.

-- Both southbound Massachusetts Avenue lanes are still blocked to the south of Little Falls Parkway in Bethesda by a fallen tree.

-- An accident on I-270 South before Clarksburg Road could cause problems.

-- Massachusetts Avenue is blocked southbound in Bethesda due to a fallen tree. Both lanes are blocked to the south of Little Falls Parkway, shortly before the Maryland/D.C. border.
