Wisconsin Ave blocked at Tenley Circle

Mark Berman

Good morning, Washington! One more morning rush hour left this week, and it's going to be a bit warm out there. Here's a look at the traffic headaches awaiting you:

9:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Inner Loop is still visibly congested near Colesville Road, but it appears traffic is moving more easily now.

-- The stretch of Wisconsin Avenue between Warren Street and Nebraska Avenue is blocked due to a suspicious package, according to the fire department.

8:55 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Due to police activity, Wisconsin Avenue is blocked between Warren Street and Nebraska Avenue (just south of Tenley Circle).

8:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Dulles Toll Road lanes have reopened, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

-- The Inner Loop appears very congested around Colesville Road.

-- One commenter says they heard a report (via NPR) of bad congestion on the B.W. Parkway southbound. Anybody out there take that this morning? See any problems?

8:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Three of the four eastbound Dulles Toll Road lanes remain blocked.

-- I-395 North is even more backed up at the 14th Street Bridge, but traffic is moving.

8:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic is absolutely crawling on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge.

-- I-495 North is pretty backed up heading to I-66, but at least it's moving.

-- There don't appear to be particularly bad backups on the Dulles Toll Road, at least from what we can see on the traffic cameras. Do you know somebody on that roadway? Did you just take it? Let us know what you saw by posting in the comments below or sending me an e-mail (bermanm [at] washpost [dot] com).

-- Heading out of town for the weekend? U.S. 50 Eastbound looks very clear heading towards the Bay Bridge.

-- I don't mean to be a jinx, but I-95 North looks remarkably smooth as you approach the Springfield Interchange. (I know, I know, just by typing that I doomed everyone to an extra 30-45 minutes waiting in congestion. Sorry about that in advance!) But at least for now, it's smooth sailing.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on the Dulles Toll Road near Washington Dulles International Airport is blocking the eastbound left lane, left center lane and right center lane. With one lane of eastbound traffic getting by, expect considerable backups for drivers heading towards Washington.

-- I-66 East is backed up at Chain Bridge Road.

7:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Still no real visible traffic.

-- Still clear out there.

6:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The roads are still quiet thus far.

6:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Outer Loop lanes have reopened.

-- Three of the four Outer Loop lanes are closed at River Road due to roadwork.

-- DC Water crews are still repairing a broken water main on P Street between 17th and 18th streets in Northwest.

It's interesting you are reporting clear roads when NPR is reporting terrible traffic on BW Parkway southbound due to an accident.
