Power back on at Reagan National

5:30 p.m. Update: According to airports officials, the power remains out at the authority's headquarters, although power has been restored to the terminals. The outage is also affecting Web sites for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, and Dulles and Reagan airports.

2:10p.m. Update Power is back on, the airports authority said. They're warning passengers to print boarding passes at home, because ticketing lines are backed up.

2:04 p.m. Update: Airports officials just tweeted that power is still out at Terminals B and C. You should print your boarding pass at home and check with your airline to see if flights are canceled or delayed.

1:55 p.m. Update: According to FAA spokeswoman Arlene Salac, the outage "is not causing delays as far as our system is concerned." Air traffic operations are currently normal, she said.

1:35 p.m. Update: Le-Ha Anderson, a spokeswoman for Dominion power, said the outage at Reagan National does not involve Dominion Virginia Power. "The service from Dominion to the airport is intact and is not a cause of the outage," she said. "The airport operates its own system within the airport. They have voluntarily separated from one of our feeds to their system while they resolve the outage."

12:55 p.m. Update: Officials say a power outage is expected to affect flights at Reagan National Airport.

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokeswoman Courtney Mickalonis says electrical power was lost about 11:45 a.m. at terminals A and C and the airports authority headquarters building. Mickalonis says it has affected ticket counters, security checkpoints and concessions.

She says flights will be affected and urged passengers to contact their airlines for any delays or cancellations this afternoon.

Mickalonis says it's not clear when power will be restored. She says officials are making announcements in the terminal to notify people.

The cause of the outage is under investigation

This is the second time in a week that power has gone out at DCA. The first time was last Tuesday. I was able to make my flight but this is getting ridiculous.
