Street closures in Columbia Heights

Work on Monroe and Newton Streets at 14th Street NW will require road closures Thursday and Friday as construction crews excavate and pave, according to the District Department of Transportation. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes.
The work will begin Thursday about 7 p.m. and continue throughout Friday. However, the intersections will be opened during rush hour -- beginning at 5 a.m. Friday -- with ramps covering the excavated areas. Periodic closures will occur throughout Friday, DDOT said.
