Weather causing flight delays

Flight delay map

10:50 a.m. Update: There continue to be flight delays at Dulles and airports in the Northeast.

8:45 a.m. Update: Conditions have improved at BWI, but there are still significant departure delays at Dulles. Flights destined for Newark and LaGuardia are on hold until at least 9:30, according to the FAA, but check with your airline for specifics.

Original post: The Capital Weather Gang is forecasting more storms today, but we're already seeing weather have a significant impact on flights.

The Federal Aviation Administration is reporting delays at Dulles and BWI. There are departure delays at Dulles of 46 minutes to an hour -- and increasing; Dulles currently has the worst delays in the country. Delays are less at BWI, and operations seem to be close to normal at Reagan National. There are also delays at Philadelphia, LaGuardia and Newark.

If you're flying today, the FAA and the airports advise that you check with your airline for how your flight might be affected.
