Accident on Route 29 in Md.

Kafia Hosh

Good morning all,

Metro riders will shell out a little more cash for service today thanks to another round of fare hikes. But if you choose to ditch the rails for your car (or always drive), here's what the morning commute looks like so far:

8:25 AM Update: The accident on the Dulles Toll Road has cleared. However, traffic is still backed up. Try using an alternate route such as Routes 7 or 28.

8 AM: An accident is being reported southbound on Route 29 and Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring. Fire and rescue workers are on the scene and two lanes are getting by, according to News Channel 8.

7:54 AM Update: The accident on I-495 N has been moved to the shoulder.

7:45 AM: An accident is blocking the right lane of I-495 North after the Dulles Toll Road in Virginia.

7:35 AM Update: The accident on the Dulles Toll Road has moved to the shoulder and all lanes have reopened.

7:30 AM: The right lane is blocked on I-270 S. after Falls Road due to a disabled vehicle.

7:06 AM Update: The accident has snarled traffic on the Dulles Toll Road. Fire and rescue crews are on the scene now allowing one lane to get by. Traffic also is being diverted onto the airport access road.

6:54 AM: An accident is being reported eastbound on the Dulles Toll Road between Hunter Mill Road and Wolf Trap. The accident involves an over turned vehicle and fire and rescue units are responding.

6:30 AM Update: Northbound Brandywine Road at Gibbons Church Road has reopened and the accident has cleared.

6:25 AM: Fallen trees are blocking Bryan Point Road at Farmington Road West in Accokeek, Md.

6 AM: The northbound lanes of Brandywine Road at Gibbons Church Road in Maryland are blocked due to an accident involving a tractor trailer and a motorcycle.

Does anyone know what's going on around Judiciary Square and C St. and Indiana Ave? The whole area is blocked off due to police activity and the Judiciary Squar 4th st. entrance is closed.
