Mt. Vernon Square tie-up cleared
Update 6:50pm: Drivers downtown by now appear to be in the clear. But if you want to see for yourself, remember you can check The Post's traffic cams any time.
Original post: Police activity following reports of a suspicious package have closed down Mount Vernon Square downtown and caused street closures, including a stretch of K Street between New York Avenue and 7th Street.
Mass. Ave. is backed up to 13th Street, and eastbound New York Ave is backed up to 11th, according to The Post's traffic page, which includes live cameras.
Here's what K and 13th NW looks like as of 6:10pm:
