There's a chance travelers will encounter rain Monday night as a cool front moves through and brings in somewhat drier air. Drivers in Tysons Corner will encounter one new delay overnight as part of the Dulles Metrorail project.

Workers are assembling the second huge truss that will be used to construct the aerial guideway on one of the piers at the Capital Beltway/Route 123. The first truss is in the median of the Dulles Connector Road. The trusses take prefabricated sections of steel and concrete, and hoist them into place along the route of the Metrorail extension.

Starting Monday night, two ramps at the Beltway/Route 123 interchange will close between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night through Saturday for the assembly work. Later this month, overnight closings are scheduled to begin on westbound Interstate 66 at the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) split.

The closings, between midnight and 5 a.m., will occur over a five-week period, but the exact dates haven't been set. All the lanes will reopen in time for the morning rush, but during the closing hours, there will be extensive traffic detours.

I decided to take Metro to go to a Nationals game last week. I went from the Blue to the Yellow to the Green line. NOT once did I see a sign indicating which station/line to take to get to the Navy Yard/Ballark station. There was no signage at L 'Enfant Plaza (a favorite transit point), nothing posted on the platforms or near the escalators, nothing on the maps or in the cars saying "Nationals Yard", nothing in the pocket Systems Map, and nothing coming from the mouth of the train conductor indicating in a loud voice "NAVY YARD/BALLPARK" or words to that effect as the train nears the station. No wonder folks are uncertain and confused about which way to turn, where to get off, which stairway to take, etc. Can't Metro at least instruct each Green train conductor/engineer to announce BALL PARK as they near ther Navy Yard station? Is that so hard? I live and work in the Washington area but I suspect others rely on signs, signals and whatnot to get to a major league stadium. Come on Metro, get with the program! Join the major leagues!

Or perhaps you could just do a little research prior to making your trip. By going to the www.wmata.com site and using the trip planner, if you put in your starting station and "Nationals Stadium" as your "Travel to Location", it will return an itinerary and tell you how to get there, including the station nearest that location (Navy Yard). You seem to know the Navy Yard is the station to go to to get to a National's game though. If you didn't, you could simply type into Google "what metro station do i get off for a nationals game?" and through the magic of the interwebs the very first result takes you to this page http://www.wmata.com/getting_around/metro_events/nationals/ which pretty much has all the info you need about getting to the game.

It doesn't matter what exit you use, you can reach the stadium from either, though the Half Street exit is the closer one. If you use the New Jersey Ave exit, just follow the hordes of people to the stadium. Additionally, the Nationals have lots and lots of people directing traffic and game attendees outside of the New Jersey Ave. exit so you could always just ask someone.

Why is it Metro's job to hold your hand so you can find your way to some place. Sorry, it's not. And everyone knows you should just be thankful if Metro gets you on your way to that some place in a timely fashion. In the future, please do your research prior to riding Metro, so you don't get in the way of the people that actually know how to use it and know where they are going. I'd suggest investing in a good map, learning how to use the interweb, and perhaps just speaking up and asking someone for assistance when needed. It's generally pretty easy to spot the other people also going to the game.
