I-66 closure postponed a week
The planned closure of Interstate 66 westbound at the Dulles Connector Road in Northern Virginia has been cancelled for this week. Future overnight closings to accommodate Dulles Metrorail construction are scheduled to resume Sept. 7, weather permitting.
Work crews are building large concrete structures that will straddle the highway between piers and support the new Silver Line, which will extend Metro 23 miles to Dulles International Airport and Loudoun County.
