Lane closures on Bay Bridge
The week before Labor Day will bring some lane closures on the Bay Bridge.
Single-lane closures will continue on both spans Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for routine maintenance and inspections.
Looking ahead to Labor Day weekend, the Maryland Transportation Authority reminds motorists that the best times to drive across the bridge are generally early in the morning or late at night.
Here are some of the best periods:
-- Friday before noon and after 10 p.m.
-- Saturday before 7 a.m. and between 5 and 10 p.m.
-- Sunday between 7 and 11 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
-- Monday before 11 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
You can also find out just how bad things are before you go:
-- Call 1-877-229-7726 for the latest traffic conditions.
-- Check out the live Web cams from the bridge.

I'm canceling my Ocean City condo reservations and going to Pakistan instead.
Or, make it Haiti.
