Tysons crash cleared on Route 7
Good morning all,
A second batch of thunderstorms this week have caused power outages through out the region. Alexandria and Prince George's County were hardest hit. As of this morning, 18,267 customers are in the dark in Northern Virginia, 17,925 in Prince George's County, 2,777 in Montgomery County and 2,603 in the District, according to News Channel 8.
Let's see if the storms had any effect on the morning commute. Here's what's going on so far:
--Traffic lights are flashing at the ramps on Branch Avenue at Allentown Road in Prince George's County.
8 AM UPDATE
--Traffic lights are are back up and running in both directions on Route 29 at Fairview Park Drive in Falls Church.
7:45 AM UPDATE
--The accident has cleared eastbound on Route 7 in Tysons Corner, but traffic is still backed up.
7:35 AM UPDATE
--The accident in Tysons is a three-car crash causing major backups eastbound on Route 7 and eastbound on the Dulles Toll Road. Only the right lane gets by.
--An accident is causing delays eastbound on Route 7 at Tyco Road in Tysons Corner, just after the Dulles Toll Road. Only the right lane gets by. Traffic is backed up on Route 7.
--Traffic lights are not working in both directions on Route 29 at Fairview Park Drive in Falls Church.
--Traffic lights are not working on Route 4 at Suitland Parkway.
--Croom Road between Croom Station Road and Route 301 in Maryland is closed in both directions because downed trees and wires.
--Traffic lights are not working on Route 1 and Slaters Lane in Alexandria and on Overlook Avenue SW at Laboratory Road in the District.
6:25 AM UPDATE
--Traffic lights are back on at Route 50 and Lee Road in Chantilly.
--Traffic lights are not working on 12th Street NE at Rhode Island Avenue NE.
--Traffic lights are not working on Taylor Street NE at Harewood Road NE and on Saratoga Avenue NE at Rhode Island Avenue NE.
--In Chantilly, traffic lights are not working at Route 50 and Lee Road, east of Route 28.
