Crash on Dulles Greenway

Good morning all,

Thunderstorms have left us with slick roads and some power outages through out the region. Here's a look at how the morning commute is being affected:

8:45 AM: An accident is being reported southbound on 14th Street at U Street. The accident involves a Metro bus, according to News Channel 8. Only one lane gets by.

8:40 AM Update: The accident on I-66 in the Centreville area is on the right shoulder.

8:25 AM: An accident is being reported eastbound on the ramp where the Dulles Greenway merges with the Dulles Toll Road. Traffic is getting by single file to the left, causing major back ups on the Greenway.

8 AM: I-66 just can't catch a break today. Another accident is being reported on I-66 East between Routes 28 and 29 in Centreville.

8 AM Update: The accident on I-66 East in the Fair Oaks area has been moved to the shoulder. All lanes are clear.

7:45 AM: An accident is being reported eastbound on I-66 at Fair Oaks and Route 50. The accident occurred in the second lane from the left. Traffic is slow from Fair Oaks to the Capital Beltway.

7:20 AM Update: The Baltimore Washington Parkway southbound at the Capital Beltway has reopened. The earlier overturned vehicle has moved to the shoulder.

7:15 AM Update: The left lane has reopened on New Hampshire Avenue after I-495. The fire truck left the scene and traffic is flowing.

7:10 AM Update: The accident on I-495 at I-66 has been cleared.

7 AM: The Baltimore Washington Parkway southbound is closed at the Capital Beltway because of an overturned vehicle.

6:45 AM: An accident is blocking the left, northbound lane on New Hampshire Avenue after I-495.

6:45 AM Update: The accident on I-495 North at I-66 has been moved to the shoulder.

6:35 AM: An accident is blocking the right lane of I-495 North after I-66.

6:35 AM Update: The accident in the I-395 express lanes has been moved to the right shoulder.

6:20 AM: Traffic lights are not working on Missouri Avenue NW at New Hampshire Avenue NW and Missouri Avenue NW at Kansas Avenue.

6 AM: An accident is blocking the right, northbound lane on the I-395 express lanes at the 14th Street Bridge express lanes.

5:45 AM: Power outages are being reported in the Aspen Hill area of Montgomery County. About 20 intersections in Montgomery are in the dark, according to News Channel 8.

5:45 AM: Traffic lights are not working in both directions of Connecticut Avenue between Route 410 and Jones Bridge Road.

5:45 AM: Fallen trees are blocking Roxbury Road between Route 97 and Dorsey Mill Road.
