8:55 A.M. UPDATE

Expect delays on Washington Boulevard in Arlington due to road construction. This also means Art buses 42, 45 and 77 will be running behind schedule.

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The accident on I-95 South at Sandy Spring Road has been cleared.

-- I-395 North is still really, really slow. Expect congestion and delays on and off throughout the roadway (mostly at the 14th Street Bridge and King Street).

-- The accident on I-66 East is blocking the right shoulder of the ramp to I-495 North.

8:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-66 East at the Beltway could cause additional delays.

-- The accident on I-66 East before Chain Bridge Road is now just blocking the shoulder.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The I-95 South accident before Powder Mill Road has been cleared.

-- Now there's an accident on I-95 South at Sandy Spring Road.

-- An accident on I-66 East before Chain Bridge Road is blocking the left lane.

-- The delays on I-395 North keep getting worse! Big backups at the 14th Street Bridge and, really, for much of the roadway stretching back to the Springfield Interchange.

7:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There are some delays due to a weird situation on New York Avenue inbound at the 9th Street Bridge construction, reports the Post's Michael Bolden. There's construction in one of the middle lanes as part of the New York Avenue rehabilitation, and right now when you get to the area, there's one lane to the right and two lanes to the left available. One of the lanes on the left is blocked because the barrier next to the construction has fallen over, he says. It's not horribly backed up, but the traffic has slowed down.

-- The accident on the Outer Loop has been cleared.

-- The I-95 South accident before Powder Mill Road is just blocking one of the shoulders now.

-- I-395 North is slowing down even more at the 14th Street Bridge, King Street and Duke Street.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-95/Outer Loop before Central Avenue is blocking one Outer Loop lane and one of the shoulders.

-- An accident on I-95 South before Powder Mill Road could cause problems for southbound traffic.

6:40 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The I-95 North lane has reopened.

-- The westbound right merge lane of U.S. 50 is still blocked to the west of Collington Road.

-- I-395 North is slowing down at the 14th Street Bridge, and is already congested at Duke Street.

-- I-66 East is also sluggish at Chain Bridge Road.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on U.S. 50 West to the west of Collington Road is blocking the right merge lane.

-- The I-95 North lane is still blocked.

-- A disabled vehicle on the left shoulder of I-395 South at Duke Street might cause delays.

Good morning, commuters! It's another scorcher out there. Excited for another 90+ degree day? It's a good time to reread our tips on traveling and commuting during the hottest days of summer. Check back here throughout the morning with updates and information about the morning commute.

-- Roadwork is blocking one lane of I-95 North at Powder Mill Road.

-- The I-395 South ramp from the inbound Sousa Bridge, which is being closed at night from Monday night through Wednesday night, is scheduled to reopen each morning at 5 a.m. It is not supposed to impact the morning rush hour at all.
