GW Parkway reopened south of 395
Update 6:35: Southbound Outer loop is jammed between New Hampshire Ave and the I-270 exit, and from Old Georgetown Road down to Tysons Corner, according to The Post's live traffic page. Some traffic lights are out in Alexandria and elsewhere.
Update 5:45: Several trees have fallen along GW Parkway, closing it in both directions between I-395 and Reagan airport, and blocking parts of Route 1 also near the airport.
I-295 southbound at the Beltway is also blocked due to falling trees, as is part of MacArthur Blvd in Bethesda.
Original post: A tree fell on a bus in Alexandria, prompting the closure of part of the George Washington Parkway just south of Reagan National Airport near Slaters Lane.
There was no word on injuries yet, but there may be some, said US Park Police Sgt. David Schlosser.
