VRE delays for p.m. commute
Riders on the Virginia Railway Express Fredericksburg Line can expect delays this evening as CSX crews repair a section of track, VRE officials said.
Trains will operate on a single track between Franconia/Springfield and Rippon. Although CSX is working on only a small segment of track, the company has decided to shut down an entire stretch because the work is being done near the signals that control train movement, VRE officials said. Riders can expect delays between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on track congestion.
