Good morning commuters! Welcome back from the holiday weekend. I hope you're excited for another day on the road with the supposed worst drivers in the U.S. There's going to be heavy traffic out there today on Terrible Traffic Tuesday, as schools reopen and people head back to work. Check back here throughout the morning for updates on any headaches out there, and make sure to let us know anything we're missing (in the comments below).
-- There are new traffic patterns on Route 7 in Tysons Corner. Drivers exiting the Dulles Toll Road and Dulles Airport Access Highway onto Route 7 are going to see the following new lane shifts:
- Mid-block left turns have been eliminated, with left turns allowed at the signaled intersections at Spring Hill Road, Gosnell Road and Tyco Road.
- There is no longer a traffic signal at the bottom ramp from southbound Route 123 to Route 7, so use extra caution when turning right.
- Drivers leaving the Marshals shopping center can only make right turns (heading eastbound), so to get to westbound Route 7 you must turn right on southbound Route 7, turn right on Old Courthouse Road and left at the light onto westbound Route 7.
- The intersection of Route 123 and Tysons Boulevard has also been changed.
-- There are potential delays on I-95 South due to a disabled vehicle blocking the right shoulder a few miles south of the Springfield Interchange.
