Weather causing flight delays
7:55 p.m. Update: Conditions have improved at BWI and Reagan National, but passengers departing Dulles may still experience delays of more than an hour. Airports in the Northeast, including Newark, LaGuardia and JFK, are experiencing a range of delays, too. If you're traveling to those locations, check with your airline for your actual departure time.
4:35 p.m. Update: Flight delays are worsening, with BWI and Dulles reporting the longest departure delays, of more than an hour and increasing. Delays have also spread to airports in the Northeast, including Philadelphia, Teterboro and JFK International.
Original post: Washington's airports are experiencing both arrival and departure delays due to thunderstorms. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, delays are increasing.
If you're flying today, the FAA and the airports advise that you check with your airline for how your flight might be affected.
