Wet A.M. commute; power outages

8:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The power outages in Montgomery County have eased slightly, with the number of impacted customers down to 4,200. The areas most affected are around Aspen Hill and eastern Rockville; there are fewer impacted customers around Potomac than earlier this morning.

Meanwhile, there are about 1,000 customers without power in the District. It's mostly in Northeast and the eastern parts of Northwest (and it's north of Columbia Heights).

-- I-495 North/the Inner Loop is backed up badly as you pass Tysons Corner en route to Maryland.

8:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Pepco is reporting power outages in Montgomery County. More than 5,500 customers are without power in an area that encompasses Rockville, Montrose and Potomac.

-- I-95 North is still jammed up in Woodbridge.

-- I-395 North is still slow at the 14th Street Bridge.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The right off-ramp from MD 295 North is blocked at Greenbelt Road.

-- There's a disabled vehicle on I-95 North at Annapolis Road.

-- I-95 North is still very slow in Woodbridge.

-- I-395 North is also very slow at the 14th Street Bridge.

-- There's some congestion on I-95 North/the Beltway near Alexandria.

7:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The accident on Ridge Road at I-270 has been cleared.

-- I-95 North is very backed up in Woodbridge.

-- I-395 North is also very congested at the 14th Street Bridge.

7 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's an accident on Ridge Road at I-270 that could slow westbound traffic.

-- The U.S. 50 West right merge lane has reopened.

-- The accident on I-95 North has been cleared.

6:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's an accident on I-495/Inner Loop at River Road.

-- The Inner Loop accident at the B.W. Parkway has been cleared up.

-- I-66 East is backed up at Nutley Street.

-- An accident on I-95 North in Woodbridge is blocking the center lane, right lane and right shoulder.

-- High water is blocking the right merge lane on U.S. 50 West at Collington Road in Bowie.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-66 East at Nutley Street is blocking the right shoulder.
