Accident at N.Y. and N. Capitol

6:20 p.m. Update: The police vehicles are gone and traffic is now flowing west on New York Avenue.

6:10 p.m. Update: Traffic cameras show no westbound traffic flowing on New York Avenue at North Capitol. Police cars are blocking the road. A damaged vehicle is also visible and blocking the south side of North Capitol at the intersection.

Original post: A multiple-vehicle accident will delay the drive home for drivers heading east on New York Avenue this afternoon. Authorities say emergency medical personnel are evaluating and transporting several people to hospitals.
