I-395 N slow at 14th St Bridge

9 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic has eased considerably on I-95 North approaching Telegraph Road. I-95 North is still very jammed as you approach the Springfield Interchange.

-- An accident on I-95 North in Occoquan is blocking the left lane.

-- I-395 North slows to a crawl when you approach Washington Boulevard, continuing through the 14th Street Bridge.

-- I-495 West is very slow near Colesville Road.

-- Two northbound lanes of Georgia Avenue are still blocked at Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring due to a water main break.

8:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic is moving again on I-95 North heading to Telegraph Road. It's still packed and not terribly fast, but it's moving, so that's an improvement. Meanwhile, I-95 North is absolutely jammed as you approach the Springfield Interchange, so that's still a headache.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-395 North is blocking the left shoulder.

-- There was also an accident on Vermont Avenue and U Street in Northwest.

8:20 A.M. UPDATE:

The accident on I-95 North before Telegraph Road has been cleared, but the considerable delays remain.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

There was an accident involving a school bus at 11th and M streets in Southeast. It is not serious, but the driver and one passenger are being evaluated, according to D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services. As a result, two lanes of westbound M Street are blocked due to the accident, so avoid that area.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The accident on I-95 North is still blocking the left lane of the Outer Loop in Alexandria. Traffic is badly jammed up heading to Telegraph Road, and it's backed up to the Springfield Interchange and even beyond that -- I-95 North is crawling before you hit the interchange.

-- A disabled vehicle on the Outer Loop after New Hampshire Avenue is on the shoulder, but could cause some delays.

-- There's an accident on MD 295 South at John Hanson Highway. Expect some congestion in the area.

7:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The I-66 East lanes have reopened and the accident has been moved to the shoulder. However, I-66 East is still very backed up at the Beltway, so expect delays if you're heading that way.

-- The accident on I-95 North to the west of Telegraph Road is still blocking the left lane, and backups stretch to the Springfield Interchange.

7:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's an accident on I-66 East at the Beltway blocking the left lane, left center lane and left shoulder. Expect big, big delays in this area, which is always a congested mess during the morning rush.

-- An accident on I-95 North to the west of Telegraph Road is blocking the left lane.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

The disabled vehicles on I-495 North and I-95 South have been cleared.

6:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 North at Arlington Boulevard is blocking the right shoulder and could cause some delays.

-- There's also a disabled vehicle on I-95 South in Woodbridge.

Good morning, commuters. It's going to be a cooler day with a chance of showers, per the Capital Weather Gang. Check here throughout the morning for a roundup of the headaches facing you during the morning rush hour. Two northbound lanes of Georgia Avenue are still blocked at Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring due to a water main break. Just south of the Wheaton shopping center, this area is sure to see congestion, so avoid it this morning.
