All lanes reopen on T.R. Bridge

Mark Berman

10:05 A.M. UPDATE:

All lanes on the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge have reopened.

9:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The ramp from the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge from westbound Constitution Avenue was closed due to the accident, but it has reopened. Two lanes are closed on the bridge itself.

-- Traffic is still very, very slow heading from I-66 East to the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge, while traffic is moving more smoothly from U.S. 50 to the bridge.

-- The accident on I-370 East is blocking the southbound right merge lane at I-270.

-- An accident on I-395 South is blocking the left lane at King Street.

-- I-95 North is backed up in Occoquan.

9 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's an accident on U.S. 50 West at Collington Road in Bowie, which could slow westbound traffic.

-- An accident on I-370 East at I-270 could also cause some issues.

8:55 A.M. UPDATE:

Traffic is now moving more smoothly onto the ramp from Constitution Avenue to the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge and I-66. In Virginia, inbound traffic heading towards the bridge (and into the District) from I-66 is backed up and crawling, while traffic going in the same direction from U.S. 50 is also slow but moving a bit easier.

8:30 A.M. UPDATE:

There's an accident on the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge involving an overturned vehicle. Expect delays on and around the bridge, particularly for outbound traffic.

Traffic exiting Virginia and heading into the District is moving, while the ramp from Constitution Avenue to the bridge/I-66 is very backed up (traffic is backed up at least to the intersection of 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue).

8:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The lanes are all open on I-95 North at S. Van Dorn Street, but there are still big backups in that area.

-- The Inner Loop is also still very backed up.

-- I-395 North is also incredibly packed heading towards the District.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-95 North at S. Van Dorn Street is blocking the right lane and right shoulder, and there are backups on this stretch of the Beltway.

-- The Inner Loop is heavily backed up near Braddock Road and along the southwest corner of the Beltway.

-- Pretty much all of I-395 North is a backed up mess, so expect big delays there.

-- Both directions of the Beltway are also very packed near Georgia Avenue. Further west, it's I-495 West that is much more backed up.

7:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on the Outer Loop at MD 201 is blocking the shoulder and could slow traffic.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-95 South at S. Van Dorn Street is blocking the southbound center lane.

-- There's also an accident on I-95 North in the same area, blocking the shoulder and causing backups.

6:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on the Inner Loop/I-495 North at the Dulles Toll Road is blocking the right lane.

-- There's also an accident blocking the right shoulder of the ramp from the eastbound Dulles Toll Road to I-495 North.

-- There's bad congestion on I-395 North at King Street.

-- The Inner and Outer Loops are both very, very packed north of the American Legion Bridge.

6:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic already looks very heavy on I-395 North, particularly at Duke Street.

-- It's also looking pretty crowded on the Inner Loop/I-495 North near Route 7.

-- And I-495 West near Colesville Road is also looking sluggish.

Good morning, commuters! It's going to be a wet and chilly day, so expect a difficult commute. The rain should pick up by mid-morning, according to the Capital Weather Gang. And keep your eyes peeled for fighting alien robot cars, because there are still Transformers and movie stars throughout the area. Check back here throughout the morning for updates on your commute.

-- There are major headaches for MARC commuters, with three Brunswick Line trains canceled this morning and additional cancellations a possibility after a CSX freight train struck and killed a man in Rockville on Wednesday.

-- There's roadwork on the Outer Loop after New Hampshire Avenue.

-- There's also roadwork on I-270 North at Falls Road.

-- Today is the last day of Telegraph Road work lasting from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Tomorrow, the work runs from 9:30 a.m. until noon.)
- The left lane of Telegraph Road northbound between Huntington Avenue and Duke Street will be closed.
- The left lane of Telegraph Road southbound between Duke Street and Huntington Avenue will be closed.
- The Telegraph Road northbound ramp to I-95/I-495 South will be closed. To detour, take Telegraph Road northbound to the Eisenhower Avenue exit ramp to Eisenhower Avenue westbound to the Eisenhower Connector.
