-- A disabled vehicle on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is blocking the center lane, so expect backups en route to that area.

-- And you should expect big backups on I-395 North approaching the 14th Street Bridge, as well as the bridge itself heading into the city.
-- I-495 West/the Outer Loop is very slow at Colesville Road.
-- Eastbound Canal Road is very jammed heading at Foxhall Road.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

6:30 A.M. UPDATE:
A clarification on our earlier post regarding the police activity on Connecticut Avenue: Just the service road from Connecticut Avenue northbound to Dupont Circle is closed. Traffic cannot get onto the circle from northbound Connecticut Avenue (using that far right lane, to the right of the underpass).
If you want to head north on Connecticut Avenue beyond the circle, just take the underpass, which is unaffected.
If you want to access the circle, take the underpass under the circle, make a right on Q Street, a right on 19th Street and hop onto the circle that way.
If you are hopping onto the circle just to get to Massachusetts Avenue or P Street, make a right on N Street, a left on 18th Street and a right on Massachusetts Avenue or P Street.

6:05 A.M. UPDATE:
More on the police activity on Connecticut Avenue. The Post's Debbi Wilgoren reports:
D.C. police are searching for the driver of a car that struck a woman on Connecticut Avenue NW overnight, then left the scene of the collision, area television stations reported.
WUSA-TV (Channel 9) said the woman, who was struck about 1:30 a.m., was in critical condition. The collision was in the 1300 block of Connecticut Avenue.
6:00 A.M. UPDATE:
Due to police activity on Connecticut Avenue and N Street in Northwest, the service road from Connecticut Avenue to access Dupont Circle is closed, according to the District's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. Expect delays and avoid using that area if you can.
Good morning, commuters! Today there will be a breezy and cool morning followed by a nice and mild afternoon. So there will still be decent winds while you head out to work. Check back here throughout the morning for updates on things impacting your morning commute.
-- Roadwork is blocking two lanes of I-95 in both directions at MD 212.
-- Westbound New York Avenue is already surprisingly crowded at Bladensburg Road, with fairly heavy traffic heading downtown.
