I-66 West to close Thurs. night

By Michael D. Bolden

Interstate 66 westbound will close overnight Thursday at the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. because of work on the Metro extension to Dulles International Airport and Loudoun County.

Traffic will be detoured to the Dulles Connector Road westbound; to Route 123 south toward Tysons Corner; to a right turn to the Capital Beltway South ramp toward Richmond. Drivers can then rejoin 66.

Workers are building concrete structures that will straddle the road and support the new rail line near where it will merge into Metro's Orange Line.
