Inner Loop lane blocked in VA

-- The right Inner Loop lane is blocked south of the Braddock Road exit due to a disabled vehicle.

-- A disabled vehicle is also blocking one southbound lane of U.S. 29 at Dale Drive.

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-395 North remains backed up.

-- The Inner Loop appears slow from Braddock Road to I-66.

-- The Outer Loop is also crawling near Connecticut Avenue.

8:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Inner Loop is still very backed up heading to Leesburg Pike.

-- I-66 East is also pretty backed up at the Beltway.

-- I-395 North is also still crowded at Seminary Road.

-- The Dulles Toll Road lane has reopened.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's a disabled vehicle on I-66 East at the Beltway, but it's on the shoulder.

-- I-395 North is pretty backed up at Seminary Road.

-- Traffic is moving smoothly again on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange.

7:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Inner Loop lane has reopened at the Georgetown Pike. The Inner Loop remains very slow en route to Leesburg Pike.

-- I-95 North remains a slog at the Springfield Interchange.

-- An accident on the westbound Dulles Toll Road is blocking the left center lane near the ramp to the Beltway.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Inner Loop's right lane is still blocked at Georgetown Pike.

-- I-95 North remains backed up at the Springfield Interchange.

-- I-395 North is pretty congested shortly after the Springfield Interchange as well.

-- An accident on the Outer Loop at Rhode Island Avenue is blocking one of the shoulders.

6:40 A.M. UPDATE:

The Inner Loop accident at Georgetown Pike is now blocking just the right lane and right shoulder.

I-95 North is significantly backed up en route to the Springfield Interchange.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

An accident on the Inner Loop at Georgetown Pike/Route 193 is blocking the north left center lane, right center lane, right lane, and right shoulder. Just south of the American Legion Bridge, this spot is obviously a necessity for anyone looking to head north on the Beltway from Virginia into Maryland. Expect big, big delays.

Meanwhile, the lane blocked on the Inner Loop at I-66 has reopened.


Good morning, commuters. It's going to be a chilly (and potentially wet) morning. Keep your eyes here for updates on any traffic headaches throughout the morning rush.

-- A disabled vehicle on the Inner Loop at I-66 is blocking the left lane.

-- An accident on the Inner Loop before Connecticut Avenue is blocking one of the shoulders.

-- Montgomery County simulated a snow day on Wednesday, and today is the District's turn. There will be 250 pieces of equipment deployed across the city in a dry run for a snow emergency, starting at 9 a.m. and departing from RFK Stadium.
