I-95 N badly backed up in VA

Mark Berman

8:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-95 North is still very backed up in Virginia, with backups beginning after Dumfries and lasting until the Beltway.

-- I-395 North is also heavily backed up for much of the duration from the Beltway to the 14th Street Bridge.

-- I-66 East is also very slow from Centreville until the Beltway.

-- The Inner Loop remains very jammed up en route to Route 7 in Virginia.

-- The disabled vehicle is no longer blocking the Inner Loop at Arlington Boulevard.

-- The Outer Loop is also very, very backed up at Colesville Road.

-- I-270 South is incredibly slow as you head towards the spur and the Beltway.

8:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on the Inner Loop at Arlington Boulevard is blocking the right lane.

-- There are still delays on the Inner Loop heading to Route 7, so this will just exacerbate that.

-- There are traffic issues at Foxhall Road and Q Street in Northwest after a pedestrian was struck earlier this morning, according to the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Inner Loop is still backed up heading to Route 7.

-- I-95 North is also still a congested disaster, so expect big delays if you're taking that route.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-66 East is blocking the left center lane at Sudley Road.

-- An accident on I-95 South/the Outer Loop at Telegraph Road is blocking the right lane.

7:40 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-95 North is still incredibly backed up, with delays stretching from the Beltway as far back as Woodbridge.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-66 East is blocking the left center lane at Sudley Road.

-- An accident on I-95 South/the Outer Loop at Telegraph Road is blocking the right lane.

7:10 A.M. UPDATE:

The lanes have reopened on I-95 North in Lorton. However, big backups remain for northbound traffic in and around Dale City and Woodbridge.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-395 North at Seminary Road is blocking the right lane.

-- All lanes have reopened at St. Barnabas Road and Branch Avenue.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Inner Loop lanes have reopened at Route 7 and just the shoulder is now closed.

-- The left two lanes remain blocked on I-95 North in Lorton.

-- Southbound St. Barnabas Road is closed at Branch Avenue in the aftermath of a hit-and-run earlier this morning. Post Now has more.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-95 North in Lorton is blocking the left lane and left center lane as well as both shoulders. There are considerable backups stretching beyond Dale City.

-- Three lanes remain blocked on the Inner Loop at Route 7.

-- The Outer Loop lane has reopened near S. Van Dorn Street.

5:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-95 South/the Outer Loop to the east of S. Van Dorn Street is blocking the south right lane and the shoulder.

-- There's also an accident on I-495 North/the Inner Loop at Leesburg Pike/Route 7. It's blocking the left center lane, right center lane and right lane. Traffic is only getting by in one lane, so expect big delays in this area.

-- And there's also an accident on the Outer Loop before Connecticut Avenue that could slow traffic.
