7th Street NW reopens
1:50 p.m. Update: Police have cleared the scene and traffic is flowing again.
Original post: Police are on the scene at H and Seventh Streets in Northwest Washington. There are street closures and the southwest sidewalk leading by Metro station and Washington Sports Club appears to be cordoned off with police tape.
There is a propane tank in a trash receptacle on H, according to authorities, which was discovered by a hot dog vendor. Seventh Street is closed from G to H.
Metro says the activity is not affecting its rail operations in the area.
