Federal Center SW Station reopens

2:30 p.m. Update: D.C. officials say surrounding streets have also reopened.

2:15 p.m. Update: Federal Center SW Station has reopened, Metro says.

1:55 p.m. Update: The 400 block of Third Street SW is closed due to the police investigation, according to D.C. officials.

Original post: Metro says Federal Center SW Station is closed due to a suspicious package outside the station. Shuttle bus service has been requested. Trains are passing through the station but passengers cannot disembark, Metro said.
