Travelers hoping to take the MARC (or any MTA service) during the holiday season, be advised about some changes and holiday scheduling.

For starters, MARC is changing up some trains for today, which is important information for holiday travelers:
-- Penn Line: There will be an additional midday train departing Washington at 2:50 p.m. making all stops to Perryville.
-- Brunswick Line: Train 877 (4:55 p.m. departure) will be canceled. Instead, an earlier train will depart Washington at 2:40 p.m. stopping at Silver Spring, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Point of Rocks, Brunswick, and all West Virginia stops.
-- Camden Line: Train 852 (5:51 p.m. departure) will be canceled. Instead, an earlier train will depart Washington at 2:00 p.m. making all stops to Camden.

There is no MARC service for Friday and Saturday (Dec. 24-25).

Additionally, the Maryland Transit Administration reported that Local Bus, Metro and Light Rail will operate regular schedules on Friday, Dec. 24, and Sunday/holiday schedules on Saturday, Dec. 25. Commuter buses are not operating on either day.
