I-270 N to close overnight

By Michael D. Bolden

All four lanes of Interstate 270 northbound will close overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning as crews install an overhead sign as part of the Intercounty Connector project.

The closure will take place between Montgomery Avenue and Shady Grove Road. The plan for the closure is as follows:

-- Crews will close one lane at 9 Wednesday night.
-- Two lanes will close by 11 p.m.
-- There will be total closures of up to 15 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. Thursday. State officials say the Local lanes will remain open.

The State Highway Administration recommends using Route 355 as an alternate.
