Streetcar work closes 7th St NE

Streetcar-related construction work could cause a traffic headache in Northeast Washington today. The District Department of Transportation will close 7th Street between H and G streets from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the installation of streetcar tracks across the intersection of 7th and H streets.
Local access will be maintained on 7th Street for residents, and 8th Street will remain open as an alternative route. There will be temporary signs and traffic control measures to guide people through the area. The timetable is weather permitting, of course.
For more information on the H Street Reconstruction Project, head to the DDOT Web site.
