VRE to collect Toys for Tots
The Virginia Railway Express will hold its annual Toys for Tots holiday toy collection Wednesday on all morning trains, VRE officials said.
Riders are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy and leave it at their seat when they detrain on Dec. 8. VRE officials will collect all the toys from the trains at the mid-day storage yard and deliver them to the U.S. Marine Corps' Reserve's Toys for Tots program. All the toys will be donated to children within the greater Washington area.
VRE officials said riders can also provide gift cards or monetary donations-preferably checks made out to Toys for Tots.
