Bus services modified in N. Va.
Arlington Transit will begin running bus 5293 on ART routes 74 and 84 and bus 5221 on ART route 61 around 1 p.m. instead of 3:30 p.m. to accommodate those heading home early, officials with ART said. For updates please visit Arlington Transit.
Loudoun County Transit will begin running buses earlier from the Rosslyn Metro station, officials said. Starting at 2 p.m. a bus will leave every 15 minutes until 5:55 p.m.
The Loudoun Tysons Express service has added a bus that will leave Tysons at 2 p.m.
Fairfax Connector will operate route 644 from the Vienna Metro starting at 2 p.m. due to the early release of federal employees. Route 980- will operate from West Falls Church at 2 p.m. Route 380 D will began at 1:30 p.m. from the Pentagon.
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission's Snow Emergency Service Plan is in effect for OmniRide, Metro Direct, OmniLink and Cross County Connector buses. Rides on all PRTC buses will be free, PRTC officials said.

Passengers should take Metrorail to the appropriate Metro stations, where buses will be waiting. All buses on the Manassas OmniRide, Tysons Express, Manassas Metro Direct and Linton Hall Metro Direct routes will operate to and from the West Falls Church Metrorail station only. All other OmniRide routes and the Prince William Metro Direct will operate to and from the Franconia-Springfield Metro station. Although PRTC bus rides are free, you will be required to pay the Metrorail, Metrobus or Fairfax Connector fare. PRTC buses will leave Metro stations at least every 20 minutes, except for Tyson's Express and Linton Hall Metro Direct which will depart every hour, on the hour. The last OmniRide buses will depart the Metrorail stations at 7:30 p.m.
