'No pants subway ride' day

By Luke Rosiak

It's happening again: Improv comedy aficionados have organized a transit flash mob this afternoon--one that entails riding the Metro on this January day without pants.

Have you spotted the participants of Global No Pants Subway Ride 2011--or better yet, the baffled expressions on other riders' faces?

50 cities in 24 countries will take part this year, but today--from 3pm to 6pm--it's D.C.'s turn. There are more details on today's events on Facebook, where more than 1,000 people said they would attend, including how the pantsless can get half-price hamburgers.

See pictures of riders snapped by Twitterers below, and after the jump, a movie of the spectacle in New York last year.

Cos it's funny.

That does explain the girl without pants that I saw at L'Enfant Plaza around 5:15 today. I'd been wondering...

I thought underwear were supposed to be sexy? Boxers or briefs?

Grow up, people.

I hope the people who plan to participate are wearing clean underwear. And those who don't plan to participate might want to bring disinfecting wipes for the seats.

When something is so contrived I just don't think its funny. Nothing worse than people trying to be funny...You Tube is the worst thing to happen to the internet since porn. Al Gore probably didn't have this in mind when he invented the internet...

Stands to reason. Only a doofus would think this would be funny and deem those of us who don't prudes. Please! Nobody wants to see that. I'll never understand white humor.

Actually, I changed my mind on this. If you're a perfect size 5 18 to 40 year old female its just fine.
If you don't fall into that group...then its lame.

I think its crazy cool, but way too cold for me.

"Olds" like BigFatty651 don't get it. Besides, there is no size "5" for women; only comes in even numbers. And that Al Gore lamity was sooooo 2 decades ago.

And, for an "olds" reference reply to Captain Kangaroo, the general response to most of these posters is not "boxers or briefs," but "Depends."

Is there some kind of reason for this behavior? Or, are the first 3 sentences of BigDaddy651's first post and jusmy2cents post correct?

Roger,
I guess we now all know you wear women's clothes since you obviously know more about it than I.
Made that one WAY too easy Rog...
