10:30 A.M. UPDATE: Metro says that the Red Line track repairs were completed just before 10 a.m., and both tracks are now in service.

Delays remain on the Blue and Red lines in both directions due to cracked rails earlier this morning. The cracked rail at Van Dorn Street has cleared up, but delays remain on the Blue Line. The cracked rail on the Red Line at Rockville remains, as do the delays.

8:05 A.M. UPDATE:

The Blue Line delays stem from a cracked rail near Van Dorn Street. Trains are sharing one track between Van Dorn and Franconia. Metro expects delays and crowds coming out of Franconia this morning.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

The train malfunction outside Medical Center has been cleared up. But delays remain in both directions due to single-tracking on the Red Line.

There are also Blue Line delays due to a track problem outside Van Dorn Street. Trains are single-tracking between Van Dorn and Franconia.

7:15 A.M. UPDATE:

Red Line trains are delayed due to a cracked rail at Rockville, Metro just tweeted. The repair crew is on scene, but expect crowded conditions through the morning rush. Trains are taking turns sharing the track.

7:10 A.M. UPDATE:

The train malfunction outside Medical Center has been resolved, but delays remain on the Red Line heading to Glenmont. There are still trains single-tracking between Twinbrook and Shady Grove, so Red Line delays remain in both directions.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

There's a Red Line train malfunction outside of Medical Center. Delays heading to Glenmont. Trains are still sharing the same track between Twinbrook and Shady Grove, so there are delays in both directions.

The delays have cleared up on the Blue, Orange and Green lines, according to Metro's Web site.

6:40 A.M. UPDATE:

There are delays on the Blue and Orange lines to Largo and New Carrollton, respectively. Metro reports that an earlier train malfunction at Metro Center was resolved, but delays remain.

So, if you're keeping score at home: Delays on the Blue, Orange, Red and Green lines. Yellow Line riders must feel so left out.

6:25 A.M. UPDATE:

There are also delays on the Green Line due to a switch malfunction at Branch Avenue. It has been resolved, but the delays remain in both directions.

The Red Line remains delayed in both directions.

On a crowded train- why do idiots hug the poles that people are supposed to use to hold on to???
One time, while approaching my stop, I walked past some idiot doing this and he makes some sort of noise as if I am cutting in front of him. he'd been butt phouking the pole from Metro center all the way to rockville, on a crowded train not letting anyone else grab the pole. Look idiots, you are welcome to lean on the entire pole when the train isn't crowded, however, on a full train, people standing in that area needs to hold on to the pole and it's just not going to happen when these idiots are leaning on it with their backs letting the pole get sucked up their anus. Please metro, put a sign up.
