Wind may cause travel problems

A wind advisory in effect for much of the region through 8 p.m. could pose problems for travelers. Strong gusts of up to 50 mph are expected Tuesday afternoon, which could down power lines and limbs, and endanger high-profile vehicles, especially in locations such as the Bay Bridge.

Wind is already affecting flights destined for some airports, such as Newark Liberty International and La Guardia. According to reports from the Federal Aviation Administration, some flights destined for for those locations are being delayed from 30 to 60 minutes.
