Travelers will find Friday and the weekend's weather semi-arid compared to the Thursday deluge, and mild temperatures will encourage spring-like activity. The start of the Cherry Blossom Festival is still two weeks away, but you could shake off the winter blues at the District's St. Patrick's Day parade on Sunday. Daylight Saving Time starts Sunday morning, but it's still winter at the Verizon Center, where the Capitals play hockey with the Hurricanes on Friday night and the Blackhawks on Sunday afternoon. Interstate closures canceled
Lane closures on Interstate 495 northbound at Route 123 in Northern Virginia scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights have been canceled, according to officials with the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.

Airport board split over CEO candidate
The governing board of the Washington area's two main airports and the project to extend Metrorail to Dulles International remained divided Wednesday, taking no action to name a new chief executive.

Road re-striping in Northern Va.
Crews will be re-striping main roads along the path of the Metrorail extension to Dulles through Friday this week. Expect some additional traffic delays.

Lawmakers request Dulles rail audits
U.S. Rep Frank Wolf (R-Va), along with U.S. Rep Tom Latham (R-Iowa) on Tuesday requested an annual audit of the Metrorail extension to Dulles International Airport and Ashburn in Loudoun County as a way to prevent cost overruns and ensure the project is completed on schedule.
