The Early Lead: Where everybody knows your user name

I know what you're I really need another sports blog in my life? There's a lot crammed into my day already. It's threatening to 'splode.

But you do. You need a place where you can hang out and watch sports unspool in real time because, let's face it, the sports world spins fast and you've got stuff to do, money to earn, kids to raise, a significant other with whom to interact. You need a place where you can see what's happening in the MSM, the twittersphere, the blogosphere, on TV and radio. You need a place where you can jump in and comment and analyze while the bosses' backs are turned, a place that isn't afraid to send you out into the interwebs or the Twitters if someone other than a Washington Post reporter has a story. You need a place that will keep you in touch with whatever is happening so that you won't have to say "Huh?" and wear a blank look when someone asks if you've heard about something.

I, a trained professional journalist whose most recent stint with the Post has been editing Redskins and NFL coverage, will be your guide (@cindyboren on Twitter). I've been curator (known variously as Cyn Cyty, The Cindy, Jasno's editor and the dauphine; guess which I prefer?) of the Redskins Insider since its inception with Jason La Canfora and now with Jason Reid.

That's all I can tell you for now. Stay here and see what happens -- you'll be playing a big role in this blog's evolution. Your first assignment: think of a way this thing can serve beer.
