Colt Brennan signs with Oakland Raiders
Colt Brennan, cut by the Redskins on Aug. 2, signed a one-year contract with the Oakland Raiders on Saturday, completing the team's trifecta of players who were on the Redskins' squad last year.
Brennan, he of the Cult of Colt*, will once again back up quarterback Jason Campbell and will see Rock Cartwright's familiar face in the backfield. The signing of Brennan -- I'll-always-remember-where-I-was-when-I-heard-the-news, um, news in Honolulu -- means, according to Jerry McDonald's "Inside the Raiders" blog that the team felt it needed help at QB ahead of Thursday's game against the Dallas Cowboys because of injuries to Bruce Gradkowski (groin) and Charlie Frye (sore wrist). The Raiders also have Kyle Boller on the roster.
*The Colt Kool-Aid may have been losing its flavor in DC. Sixty-two percent of over 5,200 voters last week were in favor of the Redskins' move to cut him.
