Fred Davis misses part of practice for personal reasons

Updated at 4:33 p.m.

Tight end Fred Davis missed part of the Redskins' practice, which was moved to 2 p.m. from the originally scheduled morning time because of rain.

Fred Davis missed part of practice for ''personal'' reasons... Shanahan said he still got a good workout in.less than a minute ago via txt

Albert Haynesworth, Ma'ake Kemoeatu and Phillip Daniels were without pads at the session, according to Rick Maese. Haynesworth missed Tuesday's practice as well as today's because of heat-related problems, Maese tweeted.

Kemoeatu said he was merely resting his shoulder, Maese tweeted, and he expects to be able to play Saturday.

And, finally, Maese has the day's adorable twitpic...warning: QB John Beck is not hazing his son:

Gotta find out how much Fred makes that he can't afford an alarm clock...and someone to set it for him.

It's one thing for a scatter-brained rookie, but a guy entering his third year and being counted on to take a bigger role in the offense, including allowing the team to do more in two-tight end sets?

Reason No. 1 that the "trade Chris Cooley" talk was foolish (at best).

i dunno what time they usually practice in the morning, but the second practice is at about 4. if they reshceduled the first practice to 2 oclock, a time when they normally would have a break, then maybe Fred had a prior engagement that couldn't be changed. Shanny ain't trippin. Some of yall need to get over yourselves. They didn't say he was asleep,Shanny said he missed for personal reasons and still got in some good work. A guy oversleeps once as a rookie and it follows him his whole career, 3 yrs later get over it.

- that came later. it was not in the original posting, nor was the suggestion as to knowing whether or not it was excused.

Whoever writes the links from the main page has a tendency towards deception. We find out he was late to practice and it was excused by the coach. This is news?
