Magic Johnson would 'really, really' love to have the NFL back in LA
Magic Johnson has roughly $100 million burning a a really big hole in his pocket, so maybe that's why he laughed when he was asked by the Los Angeles Times if he'd like to own an NFL team and take its talents to Los Angeles.
You'd be giggly, too, with that kind of money to spend.
Johnson sold his interest in the Los Angeles Lakers and Starbucks earlier in the week "because it was a business decision," not because of any other motives -- like buying the Dodgers or Pistons or just sitting around and staring at $100 million in ones -- mind you.
He said he hasn't had any discussions with the NFL but "really, really" wants the NFL to come back to L.A.
"Would I be interested? Of course, I would be interested," Johnson said. "Have I talked to anybody about it? No. But I would love ... I would do that in two seconds."
He sold his stake in the Lakers, valued at $27 million on Monday; he sold his Starbucks stores back to the company for what was reported to be $75 million (that's a lotta latte).
