Reggie Bush says he's been cleared to play for Saints
New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush said he has been cleared to play and that X-rays show his broken fibula has healed.
Bush, who broke his leg Sept. 20, said he hopes to play Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers in New Orleans, but has not tested his leg in action. With Pierre Thomas hobbled by an ankle injury and smarting from a home loss Sunday to the Cleveland Browns, the Saints could use Bush.
"Injuries are a part of this game, guys are going to get hurt," he said. "Any time you have key guys out you're definitely not going to be as good because they are the guys who have been here, who know the system and have the experience. Once we get healthy we'll be better, but are we going to be back to the old Saints, I don't know. Because that takes the whole team to do."
